Parker and I eloped on Loveland Pass with no one but the mountains as witness. Though we probably wouldn't have made the decision to elope had we not been in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic, we feel lucky that we had the opportunity to have such an intimate wedding day in one of our favorite places.

We booked a cozy airbnb in Silverthorne, Colorado for our wedding. We arrived the night before and watched a video from our family and friends with all of their well wishes and words of advice. The next morning Parker and I started the day with breakfast bagels from Blue Moon Bakery and a relaxing massage which was super nice before all of the festivities!

Little Details

Parker wore his grandfather's pocketwatch & had his jacket embroidered with best day ever and pray 4 snow. Jess's something old was her baby handkerchief, something new was her cashmere jacket handmade in Russia, something borrowed was her cousin's veil, something blue was her ski socks and snowshoes.

First Look

We had our first look at Sapphire Point, a gorgeous overlook of Lake Dillon and a spot we knew we would pass by frequently while living in Summit County.

The Ceremony

Loveland Pass was already a special place to us. Before we had even started dating we spent practically every weekend in the winter driving over the pass to go skiing. Parker's friends would always let me take the front seat. On the drives home we would have deep convos while sitting in bumper to bumper ski traffic or I'd fall asleep before we even got on 70. We spent our first night in our van on Loveland Pass cozied up under the covers because we didn't have a heater yet. After almost burning down our van with a minor grease fire on our Coleman.

Our first backcountry ski runs were off the pass. And my first time hitchhiking to get back to the top. We've ridden some of our bigger lines together on the magnificent East Wall in the background of our photos.

And now every time we drive over Loveland Pass we'll remember that beautiful February bluebird day where we made promises to love each other forever.

We crossed over Loveland Pass in our dress and suit and then snowshoed up to our ceremony spot. We got lots of celebratory honks.

After reading our vows that we wrote to each other and exchanging our rings, we pronounced ourselves husband and wife! Colorado is the only state that allows you to self-solemnize without an officiant, witnesses, or special applications!

First Dance

A few years ago Parker and I were cozied up in a hammock watching sunset at the gorgeous Lake Moraine in Banff when a couple started playing the guitar and singing "Say You Won't Let Go" We loved not only the words but how we felt in that moment so we chose it as our first dance.

Ski Sendoff

Celebratory ski run under a full moon

We ended our wedding day by dining in a private yurt decorated with old skis, sleds, and snowshoes at Sauce on the Blue.
